Pediatric Dentistry

We care about your children

Pediatric dentists are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. They have the experience and qualifications to care for a child’s teeth, gums, and mouth throughout the various stages of childhood.

Pediatric dentists use a variety of ways to help a child accomplish essential dental care because each child is unique. Based on the kid’s health history, unique health care needs, dental needs, type of treatment necessary, the repercussions of not treating, emotional and intellectual development, a pediatric dentist recommends behaviour guidance strategies for the child.

Oral Health Care Tips For Children

Primary teeth, often known as milk teeth, are extremely crucial for a child’s general health. Tooth decay can be avoided by taking your child to a Pedodontist on a regular basis, allowing your youngster to be free of dental pain.

Parents should also urge their children to exercise excellent oral health habits at home, such as brushing regularly and correctly and limiting certain foods. Maintaining good dental health during childhood, a critical era for developing healthy habits, lays the groundwork for strong permanent teeth and a healthy oral cavity for the rest of one’s life.

Brushing tips for your children

  • Brush your teeth twice a day. This helps you avoid plaque buildup and maintains your health.
  • After the age of three years, fluoride-containing toothpaste is always suggested since fluoride possesses antibacterial and remineralization qualities that protect a child’s teeth against cavities.
  • Brush your child’s teeth in a circular/rolling manner at all times. All teeth should have their outer, inner, and upper (chewing) surfaces well brushed. To encourage good brushing, the child should be assisted in controlling the sequence of brushing all of these surfaces.
  • Brushing should begin at the age of eighteen months. Brush your teeth with a gentle brush and no toothpaste. To begin, use a finger brush. Brushes should be replaced every 3 to 4 months or when the bristles become worn.
  • Brushing should be done under the supervision of parents until the child reaches the age of eight. Gradually, throughout this age, the transition from parental care to supervised self-care can be made.
  • After 2 years of age, use a little smear of dental paste.
  • Between the ages of 3 and 6, a pea-sized amount of toothpaste can be used.
  • Flossing should be part of your everyday regimen.
  • Tongue washing should be promoted as a regular habit. Tongue scrapers, both flexible and flat, can be used to clean the upper surface of the tongue. This aids in the elimination of microorganisms.
